2008 Summit to Summit Challenge to STOP HUNGER NOW

The Challenge: Set a record for climbing the summits of Crowders Mountain and Kings Pinnacle in a single day. Each loop of both summits is approximately 7½ miles with approximately 1,700 feet of net elevation gain.

The Rules: Alternate summits to insure there are no shortcuts. Travel self-contained (or else detour to the parking lot if I need to replenish supplies from the car).

The Proof: Time stamped photos of the summits or the view from the summit, etc.

When: A weekday, so there is less traffic on the trails. When weather is good so there is less risk of injury, and before the heat of summer.

Who: Dale Gentle, a 54 year old member of the Rotary Club of Southwest Cabarrus.
The Cause: Simply put, eliminate starvation and malnutrition in every corner of the world!
